Common Cockle - Merino DK
Common Cockle - Merino DK
A soft beige, with subtle undertones of pink, and speckled with chestnut brown.
The common cockle lives on muddy and sandy shores, between the high tide and low tide mark, and is commonly found in estuaries. It is a medium-sized clam-like shell, rounded and domed with radiating ridges. It feeds by filtering plankton and other organic matter from the water. Cockles are an important food source for shorebirds such as oystercatchers, the shore crab and flatfish.
The swatch shown is on the Merino Singles base, other bases may work up differently.

Useful Information
Useful Information
All yarn is hand dyed and therefore no skein is identical. I recommend alternating between skeins throughout your project to prevent pooling of colours.
If you purchase multiple skeins of the same colourway, they will be from the same dye-lot unless otherwise stated.
If dye-lots differ greatly, photos of each dye-lot will be provided.
Please purchase your required number of skeins at the same time if you need them to be from the same dye-lot. Every care is taken to maintain consistency between dye-lots, however the nature of hand dyed yarn means that variations may occur.
